How to report a concern
Send the page title or link, the precise statement at issue, why it may be wrong, and the strongest available source to Contact email. Do not send account credentials or other sensitive information.
How reports are reviewed
We examine the original source, publication context, available primary evidence, relevant dates, and whether the concern involves fact, analysis, opinion, a changed condition, attribution, or formatting. Additional information may be requested when the report is incomplete.
Types of corrections
Material factual error
A material error affects the meaning, evidence, or reasonable interpretation of the content. The page should be corrected and a clear correction explanation should be provided when appropriate.
Limited factual or contextual error
A narrower error may be corrected directly while preserving the surrounding analysis. A note may be added when the change is important to interpretation.
Typographical, display, or link issue
Spelling, punctuation, formatting, display, or link issues may be corrected without a separate notice when they do not change meaning.
How corrections are presented
The correction method should match the importance of the error. A material change may be identified in the affected content or an associated note. Minor changes that do not affect meaning may be made without a separate notice. Corrections should not silently convert an earlier opinion into a different opinion.
Review timing
Reports are reviewed according to their clarity, materiality, available evidence, and the risk of leaving inaccurate information in place. No fixed response or correction time is promised when the evidence requires additional verification.
Differences in analysis
A disagreement with judgment or interpretation is not automatically a factual error. We review whether the analysis accurately represented the evidence, disclosed material uncertainty, and distinguished fact from opinion.
Changing information
Markets and source information change. A later development may call for an update without making the earlier publication inaccurate at the time it was written.
